Sports Hernia

The other day, I was self-diagnosing myself, and I think I discovered that I have a sports hernia.  I know, I know, I should go to the doctor and get a professional opinion, but I’m waiting for my wife’s insurance to take effect.  I’ve been having pain in my lower abs and groin for over a month now, and I thought it was my hip flexors.  But after I did some further research, I realized that I could bring my knee up without pain which ruled that out.

I hope it doesn’t get too serious.  I’ve been giving it rest now that I know what it is, but for a while, I was playing a lot of ultimate frisbee.  I’ve seen some people with some really bad injuries like knee, hip and foot.  I have a friend with heel pain who has to do heel bone spur treatment and get a step in shower for his house.  Eventually, he may have to get surgery as well, but apparently, the treatment is working.

I’m going to keep resting my lower body, but try to stay active with my chest, arms, and back.  I hate how injuries set you back when you are working out.  But you have to take the time to recover, or it just gets worse.
