We had a weekend and Deer Creek State Park for a Young Life leader retreat. It was really encouraging, as usual, to get away and be with the other leaders in the area. As always, there was uplifting worship, encouraging teaching, and plentiful seminars.
What seems to be the growing theme over the past few years is a commitment to Young Life beyond the college years. This has happened in a nearby area of Northern Kentucky, where those couples who are married and having kids are staying on as leaders. An equal amount of volunteer leaders leave after kids as well.
I ran across a good friend who just had a baby, and he mentioned that it is not as crazy as you’d think. I keep talking to my wife about it. We know our world would include a lot more Hannah Montana, Transformers toys and other kids stuff, but I’d love it. I definitely am excited about being a father and remaining committed to my ministry.
really nice one and keep it up!
