Back from Camp

Just spent the last week at Young Life’s Rockbridge Alum Spring camp with about 450 high school students from Ohio, Virginia and other places.  It’s always a great experience, and this year didn’t disappoint. We took a lot of second and third timers this year, so a big part of my goals for the week were to push them in unity and vision.  I think it will make a big impact.  Out of the 40 students we took, 15 accepted Christ into their lives.  Now, we pray for good soil as the reality of the Cost of being Christ’s disciple sets in.

It’s interesting to me each year to see the different styles of the high school kids.  Some love to wear Happy Bunny.  Others are completely different, wearing gothic boots.  Then, you have your preppies and musical folks who wear other kinds of clothes entirely.  All that I notice is that I am getting older as they are getting older.  I understand less and less of fashions and trends, but I know that the gospel remains the same and that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and for eternity.
