My wife and I are leaving this weekend for a cruise to the Western Caribbean.  Thank God!  I haven’t had a true vacation in over a year, so I am long overdue.  We are really looking forward to it.  The cruise leaves Miami, unfortunately we are driving down because of the cost of flight, goes to Grand Cayman, Isla Roatan, Belize, Cozumel and back to Miami – 7 days.  Oh yeah!  We’ve never been on a cruise before so we are really excited.

This week has been a crazy juggle of work and getting ready for the trip.  When you add trying to get your taxes done on top of that, it’s been a bit stressful, and I am ready to bounce.  We started packing last night and have been making lists of all kinds of things.  With the hot Caribbean sun, we took a look at getting some sun protective clothing, but we are going to stick with the 50, 30 and 15 SPF sun tan lotion.  My wife’s bag is pushing the weight limit.  We probably will have to pack another because she hasn’t filled any of her toiletries yet.  I dropped my dog off at my folks.  It’s not as nice as this a PetSuites resort, but we are on a budget.  Now, I’m just trying to figure out if I want to bring my Mac or not.  I don’t think I can go a week with out it, so it will be coming in one of these for protection.  Sun tan lotion, snacks, hotel reservations, parking reservations, audiobooks, directions, excursions….phew.  Vacation can be work!

I’m normally an introvert, but I’m actually looking forward to meeting some new people on this cruise.  Some friends of mine who went said they had a blast with the couple they ate dinner with.  They met a Portland wedding photographer, and so they came back with some beautiful pictures.  Not a bad person to meet!

But it’s going to be great.  I was reading this morning and the Father really spoke to me that this is going to be a worshipful pilgrimage.  As in the 3 feasts a year he called his people for, we are going to focus on worshiping him on this trip.
