Last night, my wife and I took our niece and two nephews to Chuck E Cheese’s for their first ever visit. It was actually a Christmas present to them that we finally got around to. We could never get our calendars aligned with their parents. The kids had an absolute blast! We left their house around 5:45, packed their character backpacks with juice boxes and diapers and were on our way.
When they first got there, their jaws just dropped. They didn’t know what to think. We got a table in the back where they have the large robotic figures singing and dancing. I think the kids could have watched that all night. We made a deal that they had to eat all of their food before playing, so we were able to get the pizza down them, and then it was off to the games.
If you’ve never been to the restaurant, it’s like an arcade where you can gain tickets to win prizes. The kids played all night and won a few tickets. With the help of their aunt and uncle, they won a few more. We didn’t want them to get to prize window and have nothing to show for their play. They had some fun prizes, but most were out of our range. We were able to get a Sponge Bob Lego toy, but not the Barbie doll. We also got Marissa a bracelet and David a fake cockroach. They each got suckers too. One thing that’s a good keeper are these printable cards you can get there with the kids picture. It’s only 1 token and lasts a bit longer than most toys. It was a fun night overall, and they want to go back.
By the way, if you’re looking for a cheap date. It’s a lot of fun to take your wife there too. $20 and you get a large pizza and lots of token. Just go their site for coupons. Grown ups can be kids too!
